I do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you have explicitly opted in. I do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

  • Invoicing and record-keeping: Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) – Austrian tax law

I keep your data private. I only share information with third parties when necessary to provide my services or comply with the law:

5.1 Service Providers:

These providers are GDPR-compliant and process data only on my instruction.

5.2 Regulatory Bodies:

  • Tax Authority (Finanzamt Austria): In the event of an audit, I may need to share invoice and payment records.

  • Legal Authorities: If required by law or in connection with legal proceedings.

  • Project files (documents): 30 days after project completion, unless otherwise agreed

  • Correspondence (email): As long as needed for record-keeping; usually 2 years

  • Invoices and financial records: 7 years (required by Austrian tax law)

After these periods, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

7.1 Your data is stored on:

  • My password-protected computer and devices (located in Austria)

  • Secure cloud services (Google Drive, password-protected) – servers may be located in the EU or US (all GDPR-compliant)

  • Email servers (Gmail, password-protected; located in EU & US)

7.2 I take reasonable steps to protect your data, including:

  • Strong passwords and two-factor authentication where available

  • Encrypted devices

  • Regular software updates

7.3 No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but I strive to protect your data to the best of my ability.

Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can request a copy of the data I hold about you.

  • Rectification: You can ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Analytics cookies: To understand how visitors use my site (e.g., pages visited, time on site) so I can improve it. I use Squarespace Analytics – anonymised where possible.

Section 10: Use of AI and Digital Tools

10.1 I use digital tools in my editorial work, some of which may have AI-assisted features (e.g., PerfectIt, ProWritingAid, Grammarly). These tools run locally on my computer or are licensed software that does not use client work for training purposes.

10.2 I do not upload client work to open AI systems (e.g., ChatGPT). I am committed to keeping your work confidential and protecting your intellectual property.

11.1 I may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in my practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show the most recent version.

11.2 If I make significant changes, I will notify clients by email.
